Facilitate the Reemployment of Unemployment Insurance Claimants1

This measure is discontinued effective 10/1/19, however, historical data will remain available on this webpage.

What is being measured?

The Percentage of UI claimants who received a first payment in a calendar quarter who are reemployed in the subsequent quarter.

Each calendar quarter, states transmit reemployment data via the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) 9047 report (UI Reemployment report). This report provides data on the number of UI claimants (which include UCX and UCFE beneficiaries) receiving UI first payments, and intrastate or interstate wages reported for those claimants in the subsequent quarter using the Wage Record Cross-match and National Directory of New Hire (NDNH).

How is it measured?

The UI Reemployment report covers four prior quarters ending with the selected quarter-ending date. Data are available from the four quarters ending September 2005 to the most current quarter-ending date. The quarter-ending date refers to the quarter in which the claimant receives a first UI payment. Reports for individual states, listed under "United States" or any of the 6 regions can be selected. Since this measure takes into account a state’s economic condition through reemployment, Acceptable Levels of performance (ALP) are specific to each state. The most recent targets established can be viewed here.

The ETA 9047 report follows the following schedule.

Please note that the performance data charts and data output generated below by this query are based on data extracted from the UI database on the date and time this query is executed. Because the UI database is dynamic, data extracted at other times may differ since states occasionally submit amended reports. We also attempt to verify outliers and correct obviously erroneous data from time to time. For any performance measures for which data is missing or partial and estimated data is used in the computation, a footnote will document the reason.
