Notification of Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Approval and Respondent Burden

  1. Purpose.To inform states of OMB's approval of the ETA 586, Interstate Arrangement for Combining Employment and Wages, and transmit the new expiration date and the National Office's burden hour estimate for this reporting requirement.

  2. Background.Due to the revisions made to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, as amended, agencies are required to provide estimates of the amount of time involved in responding to a data collection request and at the same time allow the respon­dent to comment as to whether or not the estimations are correct.

  3. Burden Hour Estimates.We estimate that it will take an average of 4 hours per respondent to complete this information collection per report, including time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information. Send comments regarding this burden estimate or any other aspect of this collection of information, including suggestions for reducing this burden to the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Workforce Security, Room S-4231, 200 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20210 (Paperwork Reduction Project 1205-0029).

  4. OMB Approval.These reporting instructions have been approved under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, under OMB No. 1205-0029 with an expiration date of 12/31/04.

    Persons are not required to respond to this collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number. Public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to average 4 hours per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information.These reporting requirements are mandatory (20-CFR-616; Section 303(a)(6), Social Security Act).
