  1. Purpose. To distribute the U.S. Census 2000 Fact Sheets provided by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

  2. Background. April 1, 2000 is Census Day. The U.S. Department of Commerce is making a special effort to account for every resident in the United States. The attached Fact Sheets answer many of the questions citizens may have about the Census 2000 questionnaire.

  3. Action Required. Please distribute the attached Census 2000 Fact Sheets to appropriate officials at the State and local levels.
