Purpose. To inform States of OMB approval of the extension of the Worker Adjustment Annual Substate Area Report (WASAR), ETA 9046, and provide revised instructions.
Background. Form ETA 9046 is used by the 50 States, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico that receive formula funds under the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) Title III to serve dislocated workers. Grantees are required to report concerning their expenditures as a condition of the receipt of these funds.
OMB Approval. Reporting requirements are approved by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. The assigned OMB number 1205-0346 has a new expiration date of August 31, 2000. Persons are not required to respond to this collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number.
Burden Estimate. Public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to average 1 hour per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the information. Send comments regarding this burden estimate or any other aspect of this collection of information, including suggestions for reducing this burden, to the U. S. Department of Labor, Office of Worker Retraining and Adjustment Programs, Room N-5426, 200 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D. C. 20210 (Paperwork Reduction Project 1205-0346).
Reporting Instructions. The WASAR reporting instructions have been revised to reflect programmatic and other changes.
