Purpose. To announce the Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration publication: Improving Career Outcomes for Youth: Lessons from the U.S. and OECD Experience.
Publication. Improving Career Outcomes for Youth: Lessons from the U.S. and OECD Experience compares new directions in youth policy in Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries and identifies ideas to test in the U.S. The report includes a description and comparative analysis of different countries' approaches to youth unemployment and weak career preparation, and identifies the types of problems, policy or programmatic responses, their success in addressing the problems, and the nature of the institutions involved in providing services. The publication also identifies and discusses promising approaches to be tested in the U.S. in both demonstration projects and current youth programs.
