SUBJECT	:	Federal Register Notice: Extension of ETA Summaries Unemployment Insuance (UI) Trust Fund Activities

1. Purpose. To distribute the Federal Register notice of June 21 announcing the request for public comment on the Department of Labor's proposed information collection extending UI Trust Fund Summary reports.

2. Background. The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires that the Office of Management and Budget approve all requests for data collection, including the extension of current reporting requirements. Furthermore, the proposal to extend current data collection must be published in the Federal Red to provide interested parties opportunity for comment. The attached Federal Register notice requests comments on the proposal to extend the following UI reports up to September 30, 1999:

   ETA 2112: UI Financial Transactions Summary, Unemployment Fund

   ETA 8401: Monthly Analysis of Benefit Payment Account

   ETA 8405: Monthly Analysis of Clearing Account

   ETA 8413: Income - Expense Analysis UC Fund, Benefit Payment Account

   ETA 8414: Income - Expense Analysis UC Fund, Clearing Account

   ETA 8403: Reed Act

   The notice was published on June 21, 1996. Comments are due by August 20, 1996.
