Benefit Payment Control - Comparison of Data from ETA 227 Report for CY 1996-1998 |
Attached are two displays of national data for the Benifit Payment Control (BPC) program: (1) a comparison of data for Calendar Years 1996 through 1998 and (2) data for Calendar Year 1998 comparing data from the State UI program with that from Unemployment Compensation for Former Federal Employees (UCFE) and Unemployment Compensation for Ex-Servicemembers (UCX).
The previous such issuance of ETA 227 data (UIS Info Bulletin 07-98) displayed figures for only the State UI program (intrastate and interstate). This issuance includes data for UCFE and UCX in order to be in keeping with the direction being taken in the UI Performs measures, where the focus is on the total picture, rather than the component parts. As a result, the data for 1996 and 1997 presented in this issuance differ from the data for 1996 andd 1997 contained in the previous issuance. A second change is that the figures for Criminal Prosecutions (items 24 and 25) now contain data from actions in Feeral courts, as well as those from State/Local courts as previously reported.
At a later date we will transmit similar data to each Regional Office for the States in that Region.
